Articles and Interviews

Southampton, New York, Art Gallery

In an interview given for the opening of an exhibit of his works in the Southampton, New York, Art Gallery, Tabaud is quoted as saying that he feels he knows his sitters better than their closest friends because he loves doing portraits and the sitter reacts to his interest. He likes the challenge of portraying American women whom he finds quite different from European women. To him they are more reserved but have better facial structure and more purity of line. He is renowned for his portraits of beautiful women, but all his portraits show taste, elegance, and personality. To have a portrait done by Jean Tabaud is an unending joy to the sitter during and afterwards."
